Southside’s young Scottish sensation Robbie Cormack stormed to victory in round 3 of the North section at The Dock Yard. After finishing second in his opening ride he then raced to four wins and 14 points to win the meeting by an impressive 3 points. This was his first ever JJ win and he showed more experienced riders a clean pair of heels. A run-off was required to decide second and third after Cameron Monk, Giles Hill and Harry Coles all finished on 11 points. Monk took this by rounding Hill coming off the second bend on the second lap and riding well to fend off Hill’s late challenge on the final lap. Coles had bike trouble at the start and was too far behind once he got his machine going to mount any sort of challenge. All three will be pleased with their efforts as will other double points scorers Fraser Bravery and Christian Roche. Roche especially having his best meeting yet which bodes well for the young Irishman. Robert Mountford rode well for his 9 points and Andrew Knapkin looked more on the pace after his visit to the NSSPA coaches. Some of the riders finishing down the field will have to pull their socks up to make the end of season semi-finals. Cormack is now top of the Northern standings and, along with Monk, Hill, Bravery and Coles, is well placed for a semi-final spot.
